Concealed shower: build your system

Separate what goes inside the wall, what controls water and what delivers it.

Compare your options

Your situationWhat to consider
Renovation without opening the wallCompare exposed systems with the existing connections. Measure their centres and the space available for the showerpipe.
New concealed showerSelect the basic set and matching trim before closing the wall. A trim set alone is not a complete system.
Two or more outletsList overhead shower, hand shower and other outlets. Specify separate or simultaneous use: this determines controls and required flow.

Details that change the result

Identify the iBox generation

iBox universal and iBox universal 2 are different generations. The manufacturer specifies an adapter plate for certain older trims on iBox universal 2. Record both references and required parts.

Plan the water path

Add the flow rates of outlets used together. Check that demand against available pressure, hot-water capacity and drainage capacity. A larger overhead shower does not create more flow.

Plan the drain early

The space below the finished floor must accommodate the trap and connection. Keep access to the strainer and trap for cleaning, and plan waterproofing with the selected floor system.
